the lead screw rotates as does the power shaft when the screw bar coupling lever is engaged in either position Its like it is alongside the opposing gear that it is supposed to meshed with but jut on When the machine was demonstrated I saw that the carriage moved when engaged, cross feed worked etc. That the only real problem is in the lead screw/ carriage drive rod engagement. The machine came w/ a new RPC so I was able to operate some of the lever functions and found So after I took possession I did all the regular things like new belts, new oilĪnd lots of elbow grease. TIG welder announced thatĪ new future TIG welder about to appear. The guy I bought it from isĪ very talented TIG welder and he was in the process of cleaning and painting when Mrs.

Other things like tailstock arbors and chuck / drive plates I can find here and there but the toughie is going to be the spindleĪs far as condition and function goes this is a fairly nice machine for its age. Make it yourself items like the spindle adapter to MT4, the steady rest, I have yet to use a follower but thats just me. The basic stuff needed has been noted here on the PM posts as unobtanium or Seems it originally came from a shop where there were several of theseĪnd the original tooling is probably still there. Issues answered and this lathe set up and properly equipped.įirst off the lathe came to me with very little tooling. Some of these points have been discussed in different posts so I will try to keep it short and sweet and w/ your help get some W/ the machine I have some questions for you Graziani types I have read as many of the posts here on PM about these lathes that I could find and now that I have had some quality time Last week I found a fairly decent Graziano SAG 14 on the local Craigs list and brought it back to the shop after some light haggling. If you need any more information please just ask. (the two sets in the middle box are MPT type but 12/22mm on the grooves so don't fit any chucks he received)Īny information you guys can provide would be much appreciated. He would like to pick up a set of reversible hardened steel jaws for this for generic use also. They have a 10mm groove with a key axially and a 20mm groove radially. And randomly Googled MPT chuck jaws and looked at the images but didn't see any mention of what they are. The question is, does anyone know what that jaw type is? I checked Monster Jaws and didn't find any matches. There are a few sets of aluminum uppers and one blank set of steel uppers. It also has the bottom jaws for 2 piece jaws. This also came with one piece inner and outer jaws you can see in the box next to the chuck, it is the lower box in the picture. The other chuck that came with the lathe from the factory was a 8" MPT (Made in Italy) three jaw scroll chuck. The 6 jaw is on the lathe atm so not pictured but the top two boxes are all the jaws for that chuck. It does not have reversible hardened upper jaws but with the standard size they should be easy enough to find. As you can see from the attached photo the previous owner made quite a few sets of aluminum soft jaws for it. This uses the American Standard Tongue and Groove 8" size. It came with one piece inner and outer jaws and also matching bottom 2 piece jaws. My friend just picked up a Graziano SAG 14. I searched under Graziano chuck jaws and didn't find anything pertinent in the results so decided to just ask here. A question I am hoping you guys can help me out with.
